What Relieves Stress? The best way to manage your stress is to learn healthy coping strategies. There are many healthy coping strategies such as, listening to music, being alone, doing a hobby that will distract you from what you’re stressing about, or writing in a journal. The main coping strategy I will be talking about is, letting your emotions out.

Why crying is good for your health
Tears help us see. Tears not only lubricate our eyeballs and eyelids, they also prevent dehydration. Tears kill bacteria. They fight off all the germs we pick up on computers, our phones, public sinks, and all those places the nasty little guys make their homes and procreate. Tears contain lysozyme, a fluid that can kill 90 to 95 percent of all bacteria in just five to ten minutes Tears release feelings. All the emotions you have been keeping inside of you will be let out and it’s a relief. Its not healthy keeping your emotions in all the time. Its good to let it all out. Tears release stress. In my next slide I will talk more about how tears can release stress.

How does crying reduce stress?
Crying can help to wash chemicals linked to stress out of our body, which is one of the reasons we feel much better after a good cry. Higher levels of *adrenocorticotropic have been found in emotional tears, compared to reflex tears. Removing this chemical from the body is beneficial because it triggers *cortisol, the stress hormone. Too much of this can lead to health problems associated with stress. *Adrenocorticotropic ACTH is made in the pituitary gland in response to the release of another hormone. *Cortisol A hormone that helps your body manage stress.

Why do we feel this way after crying?
Sleepy - Crying uses up a lot of energy. Your muscles contract, your blood flows differently, sinuses are strained, etc. Your body will obviously get tired from all these things because it's working extra hard. Better/ Less Stressed – Like I said in my other slide, crying releases stress hormones and that will make you feel less stressed. Frustrated – in my bar graph people chose other and specified it as frustrated. The thing that could be stressing you out will frustrate you and you might not know what to do. That’s why you let your emotions out and it will help.

What you can do (plan) Crying is something that just happens. You can’t plan out when you are going to cry. Crying is normal, it doesn’t make you seem weak or look like a baby. Its what humans have to do. Whenever you feel like crying just let it out, don’t hold it in. Not only can you let your emotions out by crying but you can let it out with anger. Sometimes you just want to break a plate and scream your lungs out and you can do that. You can also let your emotions out by talking to a friend and telling them what has been stressing you out. Your friend will be there for you and help you out.

facts Babies cry 1 to 3 hours each day - A baby who cries for more than 3 hours a day, more than 3 days a week, for more than 3 weeks may have colic, which is excessive crying without a known cause. Tears have layers - consisting of three layers are oil, water and mucus. All vertebrates that spend time on land have continuous tears and perhaps reflex tears - Humans are the only animals that seem to cry for emotional reasons, though there are reports of elephants shedding tears in grief. Onions make us cry - When cut, onions release an enzyme that causes the formation of an airborne chemical that irritates the eyes.
