Paragraph 1 – Customer needs summary Paragraph 2 – Solution summary – what it is, what it does Paragraph 3 – Benefits to the customer (business first, then any technical benefits) Executive Summary Customer needs summary: Exponential data growth has forced IT departments to become wiser on what they store and to choose cost- effective target storage Reduced data center footprint is being considered to free up capital and operational resources More reliable, faster remote disaster recovery required for better business continuity Solution summary A single solution to: move data to and from the cloud, execute disaster recovery in the cloud, migrate workloads to the cloud, reduce vendor lock-in, and gain awareness, insight, and control of data A single solution for: eDiscovery with powerful search and case management features Benefits to the customer: Reduce storage costs by eliminating additional infrastructure components to move data to Microsoft Azure. Use a single solution to backup and restore both to and in the cloud—including on premises Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines as well as off-premises Amazon Web Services (AWS) virtual machines. Simplify file searching across Microsoft applications—on disk, on tape or in the Cloud

4 The Breakdown Complexity Hinders or Stalls Cloud Adoption
Silo ? ? ? ? DATA CENTERS LEGACY SYSTEMS CLOUD DATA SaaS Silo ? PAIN: LACK OF CONTROL AND INSIGHT Data is siloed, opaque and inaccessible as a whole Analysis of data is either slow or incomplete Data insights only available a slice at a time Different standards for different environments Unable to support a multi cloud strategy Lack of centralized governance and control Increased security and data loss risks PAIN: INCONSISTENT BACKUP AND RECOVERY Too many siloed solutions Too many siloed storage repositories Different processes and standards based on environment Inconsistent recovery times across IT environments SLA uncertainty after migrating workloads to new infrastructure Reduced ability to respond to data loss or breach PAIN: DATA MIGRATION CHALLENGES Migrating services or platforms is tedious and complex Expensive in terms of time and capital Long ramp times Slowed return on new technologies or innovations Strategy lock-in

6 Rationalize your cloud strategy
We’re entering phase two of cloud adoption — essentially, the “rationalization” phase or the “operationalization” phase. You want to get your data to the cloud quickly without compromising security. Commvault enables fast, secure and scalable movement of data off-site, and delivers secure enterprise controls for public/hybrid cloud. You need cost-effective disaster recovery for workloads that can’t justify traditional DR. The cloud is the ideal infrastructure, but DR in the cloud is complex. Our solution enables you to control disaster recovery costs with seamless public cloud integration, cross-platform recovery, and automation of in-cloud recovery workflows. You have to move your workloads to the cloud faster. Our cloud migration capabilities help you streamline and automate the migration of on-prem workloads, greatly accelerating your time to value. And finally, you want to avoid getting locked in to a single cloud infrastructure provider to maintain cost-effectiveness and agility for your business. Commvault enables the workload portability you need to eliminate cloud vendor lock-in. Let’s take a closer look at each element of a rationalized cloud strategy. Enterprise Cloud Backup Cloud Disaster Recovery Cloud Migration Services Control, Portability and Insight Across Environments

7 Move your data to and from the cloud
Get to the cloud faster. This has been the theme of the previous wave of cloud adoption, and it isn’t going away. Customers still need to know that solutions they deploy are going to have cloud capabilities built in natively. Cloud capabilities are built in to our solution natively for both cloud storage and cloud compute use cases. Commvault supports more cloud platforms than any other major vendor. This includes native support for 21 different cloud storage targets (the most cloud storage connectors in the industry), and integrated management of AWS and Azure compute instances. Commvault delivers a “best fit” approach to including a cloud platform in the overall data protection strategy. Competing vendors deliver a one-size-fits-all solution, forcing customers into a single technology or approach. This leads to added costs, added risk and added complexity. Customers should care about the application SLAs, not the underlying technology Backup, archive & replication Portability to move out of the cloud On premises recovery and data management Automated recovery in the cloud Enterprise Cloud Backup Unify backup, recovery and archive operations across on-premises to cloud Provide native cloud storage integration for any workload for backup or archive Eliminate complex and expensive cloud gateways Synchronize and migrate workloads on a schedule, for a point in time, or ongoing. Leverage cloud infrastructure for tape replacement Replace legacy disaster recovery strategies Backup, recovery and archive native cloud workloads within the cloud 67% improvement in average recovery time* * IDC Value Survey of Commvault Customers

8 Execute disaster recovery in the cloud
Operationalize disaster recovery in the cloud. Cloud storage platforms have been an attractive place to implement disaster recovery for several years — however, to date, most of the time that just means using cloud storage as an off-site storage target — the implication here being that, once data is sent off-site to the cloud for disaster recovery, more work is needed to actually make that data readily recoverable in the event of a disaster. This means scripts, and manual administration and intervention, which results in an inability to meet critical recovery SLAs, putting the business is at risk. When a true disaster occurs, many business may find their DR solution, at best, takes longer than they expected to work and, at worst, is not recoverable in the way they thought. A truly automated end-to-end solution is needed. This is a key area that customers are investing in today, to address in the name of “operationalizing their cloud strategy.” Rather than simply dumping data wholesale into the cloud and hoping for the best, customers are taking a hard look at what applications and data go into the cloud, and how they will be recovered when needed. This is what Commvault Cloud Disaster Recovery enables. We’re combining several key elements in a way no other vendor can deliver. Disaster Recovery with Agile Recovery and Migration Use cloud storage and compute to reduce disaster recovery costs Augment disaster recovery with in-cloud recovery Provide “on-demand” disaster recovery options with elastic, cloud resources Deliver agile cloud migration for service level needs Orchestrate disaster recovery end-to-end with complete awareness, governance, and control 55% reduction in annual unplanned downtime* On premises (Production site) Data to the cloud Public cloud (DR site) * IDC Value Survey of Commvault Customers
