Digestive System: Function: Taking in nutrients (food), converting them into a form that the body can use, and absorbing these nutrients into circulation. Organs: mouth, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas

Cardiovascular system:
Function: pumps blood to all the body tissues, bringing nutrients, oxygen, and other needed substances. Also carries waste materials away from tissues to points where they can be eliminated. Organs: Heart and blood vessels (veins and arteries)

Respiratory System: Function: takes in air containing Oxygen and conducts it to the areas designed for gas exchange. Gaseous waste of Carbon Dioxide is released from the body by this system. Organs: lungs, trachea, oral/nasal cavities, bronchi, diaphragm

Nervous System: Function: controls and coordinates the body functions. Stimuli are received and converted into impulses that are transmitted and understood by the brain. Organs: brain, spinal cord, nerves,

Musculoskeletal system
Muscular System Function: Skeletal muscle: Produce movement and provide structure Smooth muscle: involuntary control Cardiac muscle: muscles of the heart Organs: muscles throughout the body. Skeletal System Function: basic framework, provides structure Organs: skeleton consisting of 206 bones and various joints

Excretory System: Urinary System:
Function: rid the body of waste products and excess water Organs: kidneys, ureter, urethra, bladder Integumentary System Function: covers and protects the body, also aids in removal of wastes Organs: skin, hair, nails, sweat/oil glands

Lymphatic/Immune System
Function: Transportation of lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells throughout the body. Organs: thymus, bone marrow, lymph vessels, spleen, lymph nodes

Endocrine System: Function: Hormone production, secretion, and regluation Organs: pancreas, adrenal gland, thyroid gland, pituitary gland, pineal gland, and reproductive organs

Reproductive System: Function: Sexual reproduction, conception and child bearing Organs: Female: ovaries, fallopian tubes, Male: testes, vas deferens, urethra
