The role will be responsible for managing the legal, compliance and company secretarial functions of the Nova Entertainment business. The Corporate Counsel will advise and contribute to the success of the business as such will hold a high level of professional integrity.
WHAT’S TYPICAL OF THIS ROLE
Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts and arrangements
Maintain strong working relationships with the Group Executives and station General Managers
Provide input into strategic matters of both legal and commercial significance
Dealing with issues related to privacy, intellectual property, regulatory compliance and employment law
Identifying legal and commercial risks and proactively proposing solutions to mitigate these risks
Ensuring NOVA’s regulatory compliance, conducting appropriate compliance training and representing NOVA at Commercial Radio Australia.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Solutions focused with a passion for providing quality legal service
Ability to deal with a large volume and variety of matters
Excellent commercial judgement and ability to think clearly under pressure and make sound decisions
Demonstrated management skills leading and mentoring a team
Innovative and creative thinking around processes and improvements.
12 plus years experience in general commercial/corporate law, ideally with a mix of private practice and in-house experience.
Admitted as an Australian lawyer and holds a practicing certificate
Experience within a media/radio/marketing/advertising/digital environment would also be highly regarded
