n-Butanol is of particular interest as a renewable biofuel as it is:
less hydrophilic possesses higher energy content higher cetane number higher viscosity lower vapor pressure higher flash point and higher miscibility than ethanol All of the above making it more preferable than ethanol for blending with diesel fuel BIO - BLENDING

Our n-Butanol compiles with the blending regulations under ASTM D7862-13.
The ASTM D specification is set to be used by biofuel producers, petroleum refiners, gasoline blenders, government agencies inspection laboratories, and manufacturers of motor vehicles, marine engines and outdoor power equipment. BIO - BLENDING

One of the researches been done in 2015 comparing the properties of n-butanol and Isobutanol injected into motor engine showed (almost) zero difference between the two isomers. Applying small-shared volumes of n-butanol to diesel fuel improves the BTE and BSFC requiring no engine modification compared with that of ethanol-or methanol-diesel blends. BIO - BLENDING

BIO - BLENDING n-Butanol blends 10-100% reduce CO and HC gases.
Lower blends 5-10% reduce Nox pollution. There is a no effect on fuel consumption and CO2 levels. the substitution of E10 by n-butanol (BUT16) presents a series of benefits compared to ethanol blends, which makes n-butanol a promising fuel for SIEs. BIO - BLENDING
