TAG QUESTIONS There are sentences or short questions that must be located at the final of an affirmative or negative clause. They confirm information about the same sentence. In spanish means ¿no es cierto? ¿no es verdad?

BASIC RULES FOR MAKING TAG QUESTIONS
They use always the auxiliary verbs. With an affirmative sentences, tag question have to be negative. With a negative sentence, tag question have to be affirmative. They can be use with all the tenses.

VERB TO BE: It’s a beatiful day, isn’t it? They are not nice people, are they? VERB TO BE IN PAST SIMPLE: Martha was angry, wasn’t she? Your weren’t reallly tired, were you? PAST PROGRESSIVE: Andrés was studying English, wasn’t he? We weren’t speaking in french, were we?

PRESENT SIMPLE: You arrive to the date, don’t you? Mario doesn’t accept the advice, does he? PRESENT PROGRESSIVE: They are watching TV, aren’t they? Benny isn’t building a house, isn’t he? PAST SIMPLE: Mary enjoyed the party, didn’y she? Luis didn’t speak with his father, did you?
