Pedestrians & Crosswalks
Even if there is no crosswalk painted there is still a crosswalk at every intersection. The ones not painted are know as “unmarked crosswalk” Pedestrians must obey signals and use crosswalks. Fine for failure to comply = $54, if under 17 the fine = $22 Motorists are prohibited from blocking the crosswalk when stopped at a red light or stop sign. No portion of car should be in the crosswalk area

Motorcycles Slippery, sloped or uneven grooves and gratings present potential hazards for motorcycle riders Check blind spot twice Watch for them at intersections & making turns Always signal intentions Anticipate riders maneuver to avoid obstruction that may be minimal to a car/truck Always leave plenty of room Never follow too closely because they have the ability to stop within shorter distances than other types of vehicles

Trucks, Tractor Trailers, and Buses
When passing a large truck or bus, remember that there are several no-zones in which the motorists cannot see During bad weather, a truck can take as much as 25% longer to stop Increase following distance behind a truck or other large vehicles so its driver can spot a motorists vehicle in the rearview mirrors Leave space when stopping at a light or sign behind a truck or bus, especially when facing uphill. The vehicle can roll backward slightly Give more space to a truck driver who is making a wide turn.

Animals & Horseback Riders
Be aware of animals that dart onto roads & streets Horse-drawn vehicles and horseback riders have the same rights and responsibilities as motor vehicles Motorists should approach or pass a horse-drawn vehicle with car at a maximum speed of 25 mph
