Our Priorities 2013/14 Establishing a local focus, so we can represent you and champion your needs Monitor and review the performance of the services we commission and improve quality, outcomes and experiences 3 local priorities:- - Increasing cervical screening - Reducing quinolone (antibiotic) usage - Doing more to prevent strokes

Our GPs Crucial to our organisation, including our Governing Body, and how we run Many work on specific areas – urgent care, cancer, community and long term conditions All of them see patients every week and bring back that insight to the CCG

Introduced the Virtual Ward Launched Independent Living Teams Used innovative AF Grasp to reduce strokes by 7% Extended countywide Falls Prevention service Worked hard to engage with you, through initiatives like C2 Partnership working to promote healthy lifestyles programme Provided additional inpatient palliative care

Quality and Safety First
We will work with our patients to empower our patients through choice, expert patients and the friends and family test, to take part in planning services Safety, effectiveness and patient experience will guide our decisions and we will commission – or buy – high quality care based on evidence of effectiveness

Better access to services
Better early diagnosis and prevention Greater access to services closer to home Better clinical engagement and outcomes for patients with long-term conditions Improved quality and experience of care Reduction in the need to attend secondary care

Engagement We want to involve patients and the public in what we do and understand their needs Our new Virtual Patient Council will enable feedback into CCG Work with PPGs and other local groups to ensure public and patient involvement and to inform decision making process Public engagement around Commissioning Intentions Statutory duty to ensure that we are committed through engagement with patients and the public

Virtual Patient Council
Provides a mechanism to feed patient and public voice into CCG’s decision making process Will collate views of wide range of groups by drawing on networks including PPGs, Healthwatch, voluntary and community groups Provides scrutiny of CCG’s engagement and consultation activity Enables existing networks for involvement to have a voice in decision making
