Soldering Leads to the DC Motor

Overview The DC motor that we will use does not have any leads. We need to solder a red (positive) and black (negative) leads to the connections.

Procedure Cut a length of wire Strip and tin the ends of the wire
Make note of polarity and remove old leads Insert tinned wire through tabs and bend into position Secure leads by soldering to motor tabs

Cut new lead wires

Strip the leads

Tin the leads

Remove the old leads and note the polarity

Motor supported. Extension wires in place

Bend the tinned wires around the supports

Secure the leads with solder
