An adverb is a word that describes a verb, an adjective or another adverb. Many adverbs end in ly
Examples: The rain poured steadily. ( how did the rain pour?) His absences were too frequent. (how often was he absent? Frequent how frequent too.) She responded very quickly. ( she responded how quickly? Very Quickly.)

An adverb usually tells how, when, where, or how often.
Examples: Well done Came here Recently promoted Seldom walked Notice that adverbs generally are placed with verbs in sentences.
