10/6/16 – 22/6/16 Fortnightly homework Year 5 Reading Read daily - It could be a school book or a book of your choice. Try to read a wide range of materials such as information books, poems, stories, reports, recipes, instructions etc. Record your reading in your diary everyday. Maths Around your home you must take pictures of or draw objects of differing shapes . You must then write down the measurements, whether it be the area or perimeter or height/width and also state a property of that shape. E.g it has rotational symmetry, has 5 vertices or 8 faces. Spelling Your spellings for this fortnight are to be learnt for a test the week beginning Monday 20th June 2016. You can learn the first 10, 20 or all of them. You must learn them by completing three of the spelling activities. Well done to last weeks winners 5LD! You had a class average of 8.86 out of 10! enough rethought trough tough plough thoroughly borough ought brought bought fought thought through though rough tough cough although dough Activities – YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL OF THE ACTIVITES BELOW: 1) Make a model rat. Paint it or colour it to make it look realistic. Take a picture of your rat in different places…but try not to scare anyone! Or you can draw a rat in different places making it look as realistic as possible. 2) You must complete a daily chore that will help to reduce the spread of germs or bacteria in your home. This could be to tidy your room, hoover, do the washing up etc. You can either get pictures of you doing it or just get an adult to sign that you’ve completed the tasks, possibly with a comment on how you did. 3) Complete the spelling table on the back of the sheet.
