Residence Permit is one of the most important issue for incoming students, so you have to know the procedure in detail

If you come Turkey with visa, check your duration of stay

You have to apply residence permit until the expiry date of your duration of stay: Otherwise, you need to go out of the country and come back again with a new visa

There are different types of residence permit;
Student Type is for Bachelor, Master and PHD degrees Short Term is for Turkish courses and tourism Choose the type of residence permit that you will apply for the first time

International Students Unit will help you with the application.
In case of emergency, you can take appoinment on your own;

You must print out this Online Application by clicking on ‘‘Residence Permit Application Document’’ and you should have the printed Online Application Form with you when you go to your Residency Permit appointment. Also note down your appointment Reference Number. Residency Permit Fee: for students 59 TL

You must be present at the provincial Directorate of Migration Management on your date and time of the appointment; otherwise, the application will not be processed

Application form is generated by the system upon the completion of the application form, where the date and time of the appointment, application number and required documents are indicated. This form ensures the right of legal stay in the country until the date of the appointment, however it does not grant the right of exit from and entry into the country. After going to your appointment, you can leave the country with the approved and stamped appointment paper, but you need to come back in 15 days.

Those who are under 18 years old have to supply Deed of Consent Document (you can contact with International Students Unit for a sample) and also birth certificate is needed. You have to renew your health insurance every year; otherwise, your residence permit can be cancelled. Health Insurance should be valid for the duration of your residence permit. Students whose passport has no declaration of name and surname must have name accreditation letter from his consulate in Turkey. (Full name or only name is not accepted)

CHANGING UNIVERSITY CHANGING TYPE OF RESIDENCE PERMIT
Those who have a student residence permıt and change their university have to apply residence permit again as a first application in ten days of withdrawal from preivous university Those who have short term residence permit have to apply residence permit again as first application after registration to a Bachelor or Master/PHD degree programs

APPLICATION FOR EXTENTION
You need to renew their residence permit at the earliest 60 days before the expiry date. You can renew it until its last date. For example your residences permit expiries on ; you can take appointment until After making online application download DECLARATION FOR STUDENT RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION FORM and RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION FORM. If there is no date statement, you have just 5 days to post the required documents ON YOUR OWN by PTT CARGO. If you exceed 5 days, your appointment will be invalid and you will be deported. After sending it via PTT CARGO, don’t forget to take receipt as a proof that you send it.
