The Rwanda civil war negatively affected Africa
The Rwanda civil war negatively affected Africa. It was caused by 2 ethnic groups who did not get along. The Hutu and the Tutsi groups went to war within their country of Rwanda in This war halted economic growth and caused a refugee crisis in the neighboring countries like Burundi, Uganda, and the Republic of Congo. These countries could not provide resources to all the refugees coming in. The war also caused the death of over 800,00o Tutsi civilians. The war was very violent and caused many more problems in this region of Africa. To stop the economic problems, Rwanda has tried exporting tea and coffee which has now become their leading economic resource. They have also started to intervene in other countries where genocide is taking place in exchange for goods.
