The Reasons 1860 : Lincoln win the election as President of the United States. He was against slavery. As a result: the 4th of March 1861: 7 states declare their secession they formed the Confederate States Abraham Lincoln

Invasion of the North: Lee is defeated in Antietam in 1862 and has to retreat Shiloh 1862: Both side suffered a lot of casualties Counterattack: Lee stops the Union army in Chancerllorsville in 1863 Vicksburg 1863: All of Mississippi River is now in Union control : Invasion of the Confederacy. The Ending Lee Surrender on April 9 1865:
Men were sent back home. Equipments was surrendered. Casualties: about 1 million men Slavery was abolished. Lincoln was killed the 15 April 1865
