Say: On our agenda today, we have a few things we’d like to share. We’ll share the key features of PASSport, along with a live demonstration and some materials that are available for the school administrators to use.

Key Features The LAUSD PASSport provides student data to parents/guardians in a user-friendly format: Attendance Grades & Assignments English Learner Progress Health and Wellness Student Discipline Briefly describe what can be found in each of the icons and explain that the icons are used in the presentation to identify the sections. If using the poster, point out the poster. Standardized Testing Special Education Services Online Forms & Applications Progress Towards Graduation Emergency Card Information Transportation and Bus Routes

Attendance View Semester Attendance Summaries
PASSport provides at-a-glance semester level attendance and tardy totals. Attendance information is updated in real time. View Semester Attendance Summaries

Attendance See Attendance Details
In the attendance details view, parents can click on individual dates for detailed information about absences and tardies. Absences are indicated by the red shading and tardies are in yellow. See Attendance Details

Final Grades View Semester Grades
Parents and families can view final semester grades for secondary students and grading period marks for elementary. links are provided for contacting teachers directly. Currently, the MiSiS team is piloting an online grade book. Parents of students at participating pilot schools will be able to view the gradebook parent portal from this link.

Online Gradebook Pilot
A New Window Opens the Online Gradebook Parent View Currently, the MiSiS team is piloting an online grade book. Parents of students at participating pilot schools will be able to view the gradebook parent portal from the Grades & Assignments link. Families do not need to do anything extra to see this view. Behind the scenes, the location code is compared to a list of OGP schools and if it a match, then the OGP parent portal window is opened. PASSport controls the access and verifies educational rights before any information is displayed, whether in PASSport or in the OGP parent portal.

English Learner Progress
Track Progress Toward Reclassification English Learner information includes details about: CELDT, CST and classroom teacher ELD grades. Details about student scores on reclassification criteria is included along with information about the Language Appraisal Team option.

Health Information Includes Background Information Including Links to State Law and FAQs The New Health module allows for easy access to background information. Parents and families can view California School Immunization Law to learn more about immunization requirements. Important information is provided in an accessible FAQ format.

Health Information See Vaccination Records
Families can see details about the immunizations that their child has received. Explain the reason codes. Should a parent choose to opt out of one or more vaccinations, reason codes will be displayed.

Online Applications Access Online Applications Including:
School Meal Applications Volunteer Applications eChoices Say: Although some of the features of this slide are in development, from this particular link, a parent can easily access the volunteer application site or the emergency contact information page. Access to online applications are provided through PASSport. Currently, parents and families can easily view emergency card information and access the school volunteer application page. The School Meal Application and the eChoices Application links are in development. These and other options will be included in a future Unified Enrollment system to parents can have a “one stop shop”

Graduation Progress * Available for High School Students Only
Completed Courses For high school students, detailed information about a child’s progress towards graduation is provided to help families stay informed. Completed course information and marks are provided in the first section. For 12th graders, their 12th grade class schedule is provided as they progress through the critical senior year. The middle section explains the AG requirements and tracks a child’s progress as they progress through high school. The graph indicates the total requirements in each subjects and an indicator as to how many of those class have been completed. A-G Requirements A-G Progress

In addition to the A-G requirements, LAUSD has district specific graduation requirements such as Health and Service Learning. A chart lets parents know at a glance which requirements have been met and which ones still are outstanding. The form is being updated to reflect the latest requirements. Emergency Contact View Contact Information and Update Phone Numbers Online In case of emergency, it is absolutely critical that schools have the correct contact information for families. On December 15, 2015 when all schools were closed for the day, many parents could not be contacted due to erroneous or missing contact information. In the new version of PASSport, parents and guardians can not only verify their contact information, they also can enter new and additional contact information. There also is an option to opt in to receive text messages. Parents can change only their numbers and the numbers for emergency contacts.
