Current trends More automation of production processes Increase of flexibility of production automation: Automation of one-off production and small batches/series, personalized production Industrie 4.0 / Smart Industry Minor Industrial Automation basic technology required for flexible production automation other aspects important for the implementation of production automation.

Contents Production Automation Management (6ECTS) production logistics, quality control, batch processing, simulation Control & Monitoring Systems (6ECTS) control/monitoring/configuration systems: distributed control systems, PLC, SCADA, industrial networks Actuators & Sensors (6ECTS) electrical/non-electrical actuators, dc/ac motors, servomotors, motion control, pneumatics, sensor principles, selection & application of actuators & sensors Vision (6ECTS) principles of hardware components for machine vision, design principles and design cases, vision software algorithms Intelligent Control (6ECTS) advanced control theory, adaptive & learning control systems Project Industrial Automation (6ECTS) integrating knowledge and skills of the other modules; interdisciplinary teams; specification, design, realization & testing Every student choses four from the five modules and participates in the Project. Mechanical Engineering students cannot chose Intelligent Control. Electrical Engineering EPA students cannot chose Control & Monitoring systems. (module contents may be subject to alterations)

Language: English Requirements to be admissible: Saxion bachelor program: Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Computer Sciences, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering External students from Bachelor of Engineering programs Propaedeutic exam passed WB students: completed the following courses: Technische Automatisering, Computerbesturingen, Project Automatisering, Aandrijftechniek, Regeltechniek 1 2016/2017: quartile 1 & 2 Contact person: Joris Spikker, room S0.33
