Explain the GOSPEL… John 3:16 says “for
God so loved the world, that he gave his Only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should Perish, but have Everlasting Life” John 3:16

What is the Gospel? The gospel is the good news of salvation to mankind after the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The gospel is the power to change lives from bad to good. God sent His Son Jesus, who came to shed His blood so that boys and girls can receive forgiveness for their sins and have a new life in Christ.

The Samaritan Woman John 4:7,9,10-18
The Samaritan woman met Jesus at the well. When she met Jesus, He told her how bad her life had been. He introduced Himself to her as the Messiah, Living water, Giver of everlasting life and Saviour. The woman believed and ran into the city to tell people that she had seen the Saviour. Her life changed immediately and she also brought others to Jesus.

The woman’s way of life was bad. Sin made her dirty and she was brought to Jesus for punishment by the leaders in the temple (Scribes and Pharisees). Jesus told her, “go and sin no more”.

Paul the Apostle Acts 9:1-6, 10-15
When his name was Saul of Tarsus, he was not a friend of Jesus. On his way to Damascus to arrest friends of Jesus and take them to Jerusalem to be punished, God stopped him. He surrendered his life to Jesus and became a servant of God to take the gospel of salvation to others.

When people meet Jesus and His message, their lives are changed.
Effect of the Gospel When people meet Jesus and His message, their lives are changed. These people then begin to preach the gospel to other people and many people were saved. Only children whose lives have been changed by the gospel can take the message to others.

Do you want your life to be changed ?
Realize that you are a sinner! Confess your sins to Jesus. Ask for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Invite Him to be your Saviour and Lord. Live a Holy life every day! THE GOSPEL STILL HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE LIVES TODAY. SPREAD IT AROUND YOU AND TELL EVERYONE THAT JESUS SAVES

ACTIVITY Sword drill: 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; Romans 6:6; Ephesians 4:22,23 HOMEWORK Read this Bible passage and write out the names of those whose lives were changed through the gospel (Acts 16:16-33).
