TYPES OF SWITCHES Toggle switch Push button switch Rotary switch
Micro switch

TOGGLE SWITCH A toggle switch is a class of electrical switches that are manually actuated by a mechanical lever, handle, or rocking mechanism.

PUSH BUTTON SWITCH A push-button (also spelled pushbutton) or simply button is a simple switch mechanism for controlling some aspect of a machine or a process. Buttons are typically made out of hard material, usually plastic or metal.[1] The surface is usually flat or shaped to accommodate the human finger or hand, so as to be easily depressed or pushed. Buttons are most often biased switches, though even many un-biased buttons (due to their physical nature) require a spring to return to their un-pushed state.

ROTARY SWITCH A rotary switch operates with a twisting motion of the operating handle with at least two positions. One or more positions of the switch may be momentary (biased with a spring), requiring the operator to hold the switch in the position. Other positions may have a detent to hold the position when released. A rotary switch may have multiple levels or "decks" so that it can control multiple circuits.

MICRO SWITCH A micro switch is an electrical switch which can be operated using a very small force and also possibly using a small movement.
