The condition of the engine has to be always compared and estimated to the mileage of the engine oil

Notice: The older the oil the darker it will get and there can be more and more sediment and grime visible.

Fuel Engine: Because of combustion, sediments and grime a discolouration of the inner cirle will be seen. Below the colour table:
Diesel Engine: the colour process is in princip the same as Fuel Engines,
but you will notice a light grey spot already after the oil change.
That is why some old oil rests are still in the engine.
