Schulich Award
Canadian Schulich Leader Scholarships are undergraduate scholarships for students intending to enroll in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) areas of study at one of the 20 selected universities.
All Canadian high schools and secondary schools (not including Québec) may submit one Schulich Leader Nominee each. Cégeps (in Québec) may select two nominees each. Schulich Leader Nominees are selected by their individual schools and must possess at least two of three criteria:
1. Outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership
2. Academic excellence
3. Financial need
Once Schulich Leader Nominees are verified, they can apply their nomination to the participating universities in Canada where they intend to submit formal applications for undergraduate study for Fall Formal applications for undergraduate study must be submitted by each Schulich Leader Nominee no later than February 1, 2017.

All participating universities are responsible for selecting the Schulich Leaders for their respective institution. In 2015, 50 Canadian Schulich Leaders were selected – two Schulich Leaders at each participating university.  A listing of 2015 winners are available at their website.
A total of 50 scholarships are awarded each year.  Half of these undergraduate entrance scholarships (25) are valued at $60,000 CAD and are reserved for Nominees pursuing degrees in science, technology or mathematics (non-engineering programs). The remaining Schulich Leader Scholarships (25) are valued at $80,000 CAD and are reserved for Nominees pursuing a degree in an engineering-based programs. Each participating university will select two Schulich Leaders from a pool of Schulich Leader Nominees, one at $60,000 CAD and one at $80,000 CAD.
Schulich Leader Scholarships are part of a $100 million gift in perpetuity on behalf of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and the Seymour Schulich Foundation.  For additional information, go to their website.

Shad Valley
Three renewable Shad Valley Scholarships are available to high school students who are current or previous participants in the Shad Valley Program.
These scholarships are valued at a total of $12,000 ($3,000 per year, renewable for an additional 3 years for a total of 4 years). To be eligible and to be considered for renewal, students must be enrolled in full time studies and have scholarship standing as defined by Memorial University. Shad Valley Scholarships cannot be held in conjunction with any other general entrance scholarship awarded by the university.
A special application is required and will be available on-line in Summer 2016.

TD Scholarships for Community Leadership
Twenty TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are awarded to students in their last year of high school or CEGEP (in Quebec) who have demonstrated leadership in improving their community. Each scholarship has a value of up to $70,000 and includes:
Up to $10,000 for tuition per year (for up to a maximum of four years)
$7,500 a year for living expenses (for up to a maximum of four years)

Newfoundland and Labrador Education Foundation Scholarship
- To recognize scholastic excellence, school leadership and community involvement, the Newfoundland and Labrador Education Foundation has established a scholarship awards program.
- The recipients of these prestigious awards will be known as Newfoundland and Labrador English School District Scholars. Twenty-five students, ideally fifteen from the Eastern region, four from the Central and Western regions and two from the Labrador region will receive this distinction. The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District Scholars will be students who demonstrate outstanding school or community leadership and involvement in addition to academic achievement.

* MINIMUM ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS
- Awarded to full-time students in the year they graduate from high school in the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District.
* MINIMUM CRITERIA
Awarded to students who have attained an Honours graduation status.
Awarded to students who have demonstrated leadership and involvement at the school and community levels.
Awarded to students who have been officially accepted to a recognized post-secondary institution for the following year.
* ANNUAL AWARD
Each scholarship will be established at $1000.
The scholarship must be taken within one year after it is awarded.

School Leadership 20 points (Examples: student council, team captain, peer counsellor, etc.)
Community Leadership 10 points (Examples: volunteer in community, church, youth leader, etc.)

  Total: 100 points
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Each applicant must apply in writing to the Foundation and include:
Completed application form;
An essay describing their school or community leadership and involvement, up to a maximum of 500 words;
Two letters of support from group(s) or individual(s) who can confirm the student's leadership and community involvement; and,
A letter of recommendation from a teacher or school administrator. (This is a separate letter from the two support letters)

Memorial University
Each spring, Memorial University offers a limited number of entrance scholarships to qualifying Canadian students enrolled in Newfoundland and Labrador High Schools who have been nominated by their schools.
Entrance scholarships are valued at either $2,550 or $1,275. These values are equivalent to tuition fees for two semesters (10 courses/30 credit hours of full-time study) and one semester (5 courses/15 credit hours of full-time study) respectively.
These will be offered at a ratio of approximately two $2,550 entrance scholarships for each $1,275 scholarship offered.
Early offers will be made to eligible candidates who have been recommended by their high school and who have applied for admission to Memorial by the March 1st deadline.
Offers will be made in late March based upon early scholarship averages in descending order of average until all funds have been offered.
Please note that while only students with a 90% early average will be considered for an early offer, we cannot predict what the cut-off average will be.

A minimum final admission average of 90% will be required in order to maintain entrance scholarship eligibility. Final entrance scholarship eligibility, for those who receive early offers, will be confirmed in August.
Any funds that are available in August will be allocated with additional (late) entrance scholarship offers for eligible students who have not already received an offer
