2. Statewide Provider Database (SPD) KEY POINTS
SPD contains information on both DCFS contracted providers AND community providers who do not have DCFS contracts but work with our children & families
SPD information is updated regularly, but you can help by alerting SPD staff to needed updates
SPD saves you time by searching all the available resources for the closest provider that offers the service you are looking for.
Unlike the CWS CANS site, anyone can use SPD to find resources for any child or family

3. SPD Contents- KEY FEATURES
Contains information on over 50 types of services, such as counseling, case management, crisis intervention, etc.
When searched using an address will provide information sorted by distance from the location
Provides details about all of the information needed to access services, such as the documents required for intake, the hours of operation, and eligibility criteria

6. Methods for Searching SPD
Manual Report lets you select service types and features in a specified location
CANS recommended report provides automatic service recommendations using a child’s case id.
Agency report lets you print out all the programs and/or locations of a specific agency
Keyword search lets you find information related to a specific topic or word (such as “Church” or “camp”)

8. Manual Services Search Report: Fields
Search when no DCFS ID for a child who needs services, for a particular type of resource in a particular area, without a specific ward in mind
Search by:
Zipcode – Required, all other fields may be left blank if desired
Program type or service types – use one or the other; for services, hold down ctrl key to select multiple
Special features – for counseling, features that overcome barriers to access
Eligibility – more details will be available in the Detailed Program report
