3 What is PARCC? PARCC is an Illinois standardized test that uses interactive questions to determine whether or not students have mastered the fundamentals of ELA and Math, as well as higher order skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, analyzing sources to write arguments and informative essays. Who takes PARCC? All 3rd – 8th grade students When is it Administered? 2017/2018 PARCC window = April 3rd – April 20th Test Format: Computer-based (Mac Laptops, Mac Minis, Ipads, Chromebooks) Where can I find out more?

4 What is the DLM? An alternative assessment that allows for the use of common assistive technologies in addition to keyboard, mouse, and touch screen technology. Who takes the DLM? Students with significant cognitive disabilities including, but not limited to: hearing or visual disabilities, and/or neuromuscular, orthopedic, or other motor disabilities. When is it administered? ‘17/’18 window: March 14th – May 9th Test Format: Computer-based (Mac Laptops, Mac Minis) Where can I find out more?

5 What is MAP testing? A personalized ELA and Math assessment experience that adapts to each student’s learning level. MAP precisely measures student progress and growth for each individual and provides educators with immediate results. Who takes MAP? All K-8th grade students When is it administered? Fall (Sept. 5th – 15th), Winter (Jan. 16th – 19th), and Spring (May 14th – 25th) Test Format: Web-based (Mac Laptops, Mac Minis, Ipads, Chromebooks) Where can I find out more?

6 What is AIMSweb? An ELA (RCBM) and Math (M-Comp & M-Cap) screening tool for universal screening, progress monitoring, and data management. Who takes AIMSweb? All Students K-5. When is it administered? Fall, Winter, and Spring benchmarking. Ongoing through out the school year (progress monitoring). Test Format: Math – paper/pencil Reading – Oral Where can I learn more?

What is the ISA? The ISA is an Illinois standardized test utilizing multiple choice and open-ended questions created to assess the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in the areas of Life Science, Physical Science, Earth/Space Science, and Engineering. Who takes the ISA? Students in grade 5 and grade 8 When is it Administered? 2017/2018 window: March 1st – April 30th Test Format: Web-based (Chromebooks, Laptops, Mac Minis) Where can I find out more?

8 What is F & P leveling? A benchmark assessment system that is used to determine a student’s current reading level and progress along a gradient of text levels over time. Who is leveled? All K – 5th grade students When is it administered? Fall, Spring, and ongoing through out the school year Test Format: Oral reading by student, anecdotal notes taken by teacher Where can I find out more?

9 What is the ACCESS test? A large scale test of English language proficiency that assesses reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities. Who takes the ACCESS test? English Language Learners K-8 When is it Administered? ‘17/’18 window: Jan. 2nd – Feb. 9th Test Format: Web-based 1st-8th, Kindergarten = paper/pencil Where can I find out more?

10 Alternate Access What is the Alternate ACCESS test? An alternate ACCESS assessment of English language proficiency. Who takes the Alternate ACCESS test? ELL students that have significant cognitive disabilities that prevent their meaningful participation in the access for ELLs assessment. When is it Administered? ‘17/’18 window: Jan. 2nd – Feb. 9th Test Format: Selected response (listening & reading) Constructed response (writing & speaking) Where can I find out more?

What is the KIDS Assessment? An observational based assessment that covers many areas of student growth: Self Regulation, Social/Emotional Development, Language/Literacy Development, Physical Development, Cognitive Development, Visual/Performing Arts Who takes the KIDS Assessment? Kindergarten When is it Administered? Fall, Winter, Spring Test Format: Teacher Observation w/anecdotal notes Where can I find out more?

12 Classroom Assessments
Formative Assessments: monitor student learning while providing ongoing feedback to improve student learning. (Google Forms, Think-Pair-Share, Exit Slips, etc…) Ongoing Summative Assessments: evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit (exam, project, paper, etc…)
