3 CTCOG Update 2016 was a year of change at CTCOG.
Four of five Division Directors have changed in the past 18 months. New legislative delegation. Two Director retirements alone spanned over 65 years of service. Overall budget has increased from $40 to $43 million. New projects in the Planning and Environmental areas. Theme for 2017 is “Trust, Value Relationship.”

15 Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
New law on hold redefines the salary levels for exempt employees and the rules that govern compensatory and overtime compensation. Standard work day 8-5 Standard work week 5:00 on Friday – 4:59 the following Friday. If you are exempt, no change If you are non-exempt, you cannot work more than 40 hours in a standard work week.

16 CTCOG Policy Nonexempt employees are compensated by being given:
Equal time off within the same work week; Compensatory time off at one and one-half times the number of hours worked; or If specifically authorized by the Executive Director, payment at the rate of one and one-half times the hourly rate. All compensatory time agreements must be approved between the employee and the supervisor, and approved by the Executive Director prior to the work being completed.
