Gender difference in Taiwan
Men were economically valued both in their occupations and status even if women had similar educational levels. Many employers tended to hire male workers, and it made the wage discrimination exist in workplaces.

Different examples indicate why Taiwanese used to think that men should go out to work, whereas women had to deal with housework. Taiwan’s folk culture reflects that males seems to be more valuable than women.
