2. Personal info My name is Allyce Cain From Overland Park, KS
I have 2 younger sisters, one is currently a sophomore attending KU
Attended the University of Kansas for my undergrad
Currently living in Lawrence and commuting to Kansas City
I am a junior in the HIM program at KUMC

3. Reason I am in the program
I have always been someone who is passionate about healthcare, so coming to college I knew that I wanted to do something in the healthcare field
I was never sure exactly what I wanted to pursue
Started out as an exercise science major on the PT tract
Decided all this science was not for me, and heard about this program from a friend
Had never really considered the business and technology side of healthcare until I found out about the HIM program

4. How did I hear about the him program
Through a friend that is currently a KUMC nursing student
Was interested after hearing about the program, so I decided to further research it and I went to my advisor who gave me more information about the program
Started taking more business related courses and found I really liked that side of my studies, so I applied to the HIM program

5. Future plans Internship this coming summer of 2018
Hoping to pursue a 5th year of study to receive my Master’s degree
Find a career that best suits my abilities in this field of study

6. Work experience I held a job all throughout high school
Continued to work during the summers after coming to college
Currently working a part-time job
During high school, I had the opportunity to take a course called “Exploring Health Professions”, which gave me the chance to shadow people in the healthcare field
