I will… Provide standards-based instruction in math course with appropriate assignments to accommodate student needs. Update grades at least once a week. Correspond by (or in person when necessary). Help your student when/if they are confused with their math work.

Grades 100% - 90%= A 89% - 80% = B 79% - 70% = C 69% - 55% = D
Below 55% = F Homework is worth 10% of grade. Classwork is worth 25% of grade. Assessments are worth 60% of grade. Final Exams are worth 5% of grade.

Expectations Students should…
attempt all problems in their assignments. take risks…it’s OK to get something wrong! have good attendance and few tardies. participate in group work and classwork. bring materials to class. Parents should… Check in on the parent portal periodically. Support your student by providing a good place to do assignments. Encourage your student to do their best.

What is Integrated Math?
Math I, Math II, Math III replaces the traditional pathway of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra II. The same standards will be taught, but they will be in an order that helps with coherence and connection of topics. Integrates topics in Algebra, Geometry and Statistics each year.

Aligns with the California Mathematics Framework and the California State Standards including the Standards for Mathematical Practice. Prepares students to meet the demands of the CAASPP testing Reflects the importance of focus, coherence and rigor and provides more authentic real- world application of mathematical concepts.

Pilot of Math I Textbooks
CPM Core Connections Integrated I Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Integrated Math I These are the textbooks the Math I teachers are piloting this school year. Students will use the CPM curriculum until Thanksgiving Break and then switch to the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt textbook and use it until March. Even though we are using different textbooks, the standards for Math I will be covered.
