WHAT IS PHOTO WEAVING!?!?!? PHOTO WEAVING
is a process in which you take two photographs and weave them together.

You will print two copies of a chosen photo and will measure and cut them into strips. You will them weave them together to create an interesting and eye-catching work of art! But wait…there’s more to it! Let’s look at some examples first.

You may choose to manipulate your photos if you would like.
You may work with BLACK AND WHITE (FILM) or DIGITAL photos. You may choose to manipulate your photos if you would like. This is your choice!

TIPS: -Choose a photo with a FOCAL POINT.
-Choose a photo without a lot of background clutter. -Take multiple photos of your subject matter so you have choices. -Shoot more than one subject matter so you have options for your project. -Choose a photo with a strong LEADING LINE.

AVOID: -Words -Abstract images -Images without a focal point -Faces (they are tricky but are do-able)

OPTIONS FOR BLACK AND WHITE MANIPULATIONS:
-Hand coloring with watercolors -Hand coloring with photo pens -Can sandwich two negatives together to make your prints -Can be two straight prints -Can be one straight print and one manipulated print -One glossy and one pearl photo

OPTIONS FOR DIGITAL MANIPULATIONS:
-Use ADOBE PHOTOSHOP to work with your digital photos -Two straight color photos -One color photo and one black and white photo -One color photo and one sepia photo -Add a filter/effect in Photoshop to one/both of your photos

This is your chance to be creative!
Some of you like black and white while others like digital photos. Some of you like manipulations while others do not. Gear this project towards YOUR liking! You are Photo Four students, so these should be awesome photos. Have fun!
