ECOM is the fastest-growing payment channel across the Middle East for Visa ECOM payment volume growing at twice the rate of face-to-face Visa volume. Why to Move Business to ECOM?
Middle East and North Africa is one of the most dynamic regions in global E-Commerce, with still more growth expected in coming years. The contributing factors are growing Internet penetration and adoption of the online channel by consumers and businesses. Internet penetration reached 61% of the total population in 2012, with only 2% of the Internet users making purchases online leaving room for a huge opportunity to grow.

How to Move Business to ECOM?
Similar to POS Acquiring, Visa has granted banks ECOM License to acquire Online transactions. Currently, 6 acquiring banks in Lebanon have obtained ECOM License. Accepting ECOM on your website is as easy as 1-2-3; once your website is ready all you need to do is contact one of the 6 acquiring banks who process ECOM transactions. The acquiring bank will enable the ECOM payment on your website to start accepting online payments

ECOM Security Visa has put in place various tools to prevent online fraud: Visa Cardholder Verification Value 2 (CVV2) A three-digit security number printed on the back of Visa cards to help validate that a legitimate card is in the possession of the person placing the order Verified by Visa An online, real time service that allows you to validate that a cardholder is the owner of a specific account number. When the cardholder clicks “buy”, or a similar button at the checkout of a participating merchant, the merchant’s server recognizes the enrolled Visa card and the “Verified by Visa” screen automatically appears on the cardholder’s desktop. The cardholder enters a password to verify his or her identity and the Visa card. The issuer then confirms the cardholder identity
