8 Volkswagon recently admitted to installing software in their cars which gave false results on emission tests. The scandal was widely attributed to Boardroom politics. Financial Times of October 4th 2015: “Boardroom politics at heart of VW scandal. Observers highlight lack of diversity, expertise and independence” “However, governance experts argue the cheating was predictable because of VW’s lax boardroom controls and peculiar corporate culture”....The scandal clearly also has to do with structural issues at VW, the article continued: “ There have been warnings about VW’s corporate governance for years”.
