Association Formulated to establish Lanka Education And Research Network (LEARN), the NREN (National Research and Education Network) of Sri Lanka, as a Limited Guarantee Company. Membership 16 Full Members 22 Associated and Affiliated Members The Operation of LEARN is Governed by the Articles of Association of LEARN (2009).

TAC (Technical Assistance Center) Service
Domain to be addressed: Assistance to develop institutional infrastructure. Design networks, provide technical specifications for them to prepare tender Documents. Remote configuration of network devices and servers which are used for network services (NAT, proxy, , DNS, VOIP, Eduroam, IPv6 Deployment, monitoring) Assistance to handle security incidents. Recruitment of a Network/System Engineer for LEARN TAC is completed

Hosted an L-root Instance
A root name server is a name server for the root zone of the Domain Name System (DNS) of the Internet L-root server is hosted by ICANN (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre) LEARN is now hosting the only L-root server in Sri Lanka on a request from ICANN

Alternative links to the existing LEARN local links Will be useful when there are unexpected interrupts in the regular network First phase is to implement it on 4 member institutions to a charge University of Moratuwa University of Kelaniya University of Sri Jayewardenepura University of Peradeniya The request to the implementation is already sent to the supplier

Cloud Services Cloud services for resource requirements of members
LEARN is proposing to provide cloud services to its members to support disaster recovery hosting services and high performance computing requirements The proposal is for LEARN hosting and managing the servers in a data centre As of now, we have received some proposals from vendors and we are studying the same Training/internship via Project
