3 NOUNS A noun is a person, place, thing, animal or idea.
Nouns can be the subject of a sentence. The bakery has fresh baked bread. Kylie is a pro-golfer. Love is a beautiful feeling. The dog was for me.

4 Types of Nouns Common Noun- A noun that does not name a specific person, place or thing. dog Proper Noun- A noun that names a specific person, place or thing. New York City

5 Common Nouns The cow jumped over the moon.
We celebrated my birthday with a delicious chocolate cake. I ran the 5k race in town last week. The cherries were very juicy. I played basketball in class today.

6 Proper Nouns West Middle School is a great place to learn! Shopping at the Grand Traverse Mall can be excited during the holidays. I went to Horizon Cinemas to watch the movie Speed Racer. Caleb and Kylie are the best kids in the world. 100 años de Soledad is an interesting book to read.

8 Pronouns A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun or can replace it. Examples: I, me, my, you, your, he, she, it , us, we, they, them, his, her, their, mine, our, myself, himself, herself, itself, yourself, themselves, ourselves, who, where, whose, whom, anybody, anyone, everybody, nobody, someone, somebody.

14 Adverb An adverb describes how the action is performed. They tell how, how much, how often, when and where something is done. The man goes to the movies every weekend. The fish jumps and swims quickly

16 Conjunction A conjunction is a word that joins words or word groups together. Some examples conjunctions are: and, but, or, nor, although, yet, so, either, also, among others. We ate pizza and drank pop for dinner.

18 Preposition A preposition is a word that shows position, time or, direction. Some examples are: in, out, under, over, after, on, after, on, at, into, up, down, for, between, among others. She worked at UPB university. The sun is in the sky.
