2 Why Are We Doing This? Annual requirement from CDE to establish zip code priorities Last updated in 2016 Gives us data on our county, showing supply and demand The Planning Council is required to vote and approve the zip code priorities.

4 Where Did We Get These Numbers
Demand 2012 American Community Survey (Census Bureau) Infants & Toddlers, School Age: working families with income under 70% SMI Preschool: families with income under 70% SMI regardless of parent employment status. THIS IS AN UNDERESTIMATION BECAUSE IT doesn’t reflect the new pilot income cutoff Supply CDE 801A data from October 2015 by provider’s zip code Head Start enrollment of non-dual funded slots from October 2015, based on center’s zip code After School Education & Safety (ASES) enrollment data from 2014 by center zip Stage 1 CalWORKs October 2015 enrollment by child’s zip code Berkeley City Fund enrollment data from 2015, by child’s zip

Priority 1 Priority 2 Infants & Toddlers 300 & 40% unserved 200 & 40% unserved School Age 500 & 40% unserved Preschoolers Priority 3 can be: all other zip codes, no other zip codes or apply a 100/25% threshold.
