As some of you may know BHGRE Kansas City Homes has created a Charity Committee. The Committee is made up of 10 members, including a representative from each office.

After many meetings and much thoughtful consideration we have decided to partner with the Veteran’s Community Project. I have a short video to show you and a few slides that explains what this organization is about. Veterans Community Project

About VCP

About VCP The Veterans Community Project (VCP) mission is to eliminate veteran homelessness by providing transitional-housing and enabling access to exceptional 360-degree service solutions. Focusing first in the Greater-Kansas City area, VCP aspires to use Kansas City as the blueprint for achieving similar successes in cities across the United States. Their long-term goal is to eliminate Veteran homelessness nationwide.

Veterans Outreach Center
The Veterans Outreach Center provides services to all veterans and operates as headquarters for Veterans Community Project staff. Veteran services include but are not limited to: Immediate transportation Employment Legal services Counseling Advocacy Location of Outreach Center 8900 Troost Avenue KC, MO 64131

Veterans Tiny Home A tiny home provides veterans with: Privacy
A tiny home provides comfortable living space with amentities that will allow the veteran to retain their sense of security and dignity. There will be 50 tiny homes built, and each will be 240 square feet. A tiny home provides veterans with: Privacy Sense of security Ability to reintegrate at a comfortable pace Process for veterans: No application process Each veteran has a specific program designed for them The internal goal is to successfully transition veterans out of Veterans Village in 18 months or less (if this goal is not met veterans are welcome to continue the program)

Veterans Construction Project
In addition to VCP’s programs and tiny homes, they will have the veterans be part of the Veterans Construction Project. The Veterans Construction Project will: Help create a self-sustaining Veterans Village Employ homeless Veterans to build various custom-made structures (e.g. tiny houses, sheds, and greenhouses). Proceeds from the sale of these items will be reinvested in to the Veterans Community Project’s programs and services.
