The Old Testament says that anybody who keeps all of God’s laws will be saved. But no human can keep all the laws. So God sent Jesus Christ, who did keep all the laws, to take our punishment for breaking the law. By grace, we can be saved just by believing that Christ died for us. MAIN IDEA ESV

MAIN LESSON 3. Once we trust Christ, we are justified (judged by God as innocent and righteous). We also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to live inside of us. This is by God’s grace through our faith in Jesus Christ! We did nothing to deserve these things. ESV
