FULL TIME COLLEGE ACADEMIC and/or VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC (Level 3) = A-levels - variety of subjects available from Maths to Film Studies VOCATIONAL (Levels 1- 3) = BTEC / NVQ / City & Guilds – variety of subjects which are related to a career sector e.g. Health and Social Care

APPRENTICESHIPS An Apprenticeship is a work based training programme.
As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Students will normally go to college or a training provider 1 day a week and work 4 days a week with a company. You can do an apprenticeship in many career areas. Employers will be looking for keen, punctual, hardworking and dependable employees with a good standard of education

TRAINEESHIPS Sometimes referred to as a pre-apprenticeship
A Traineeship will put you in a better position to compete for an Apprenticeship or other jobs. Students will need to be ‘work ready.’ Students may have to study English and Maths if they have not already achieved a 5 at GCSE The Traineeship focuses on gaining work experience. The duration is up to 6 months. At the end of the traineeship they will get a job interview with the company if there is a vacancy or a reference and an exit interview.

EMPLOYMENT (with training)
Students are able to work when they leave school as long as it involves some training. For example, the armed forces However, at 16 it can be hard to find a job and students may be up against strong competition for positions

STUDY PROGRAMMES Are for students who are not ready for an apprenticeship or work and working at entry level – level 1 They will complete qualifications, such as employability, to help get them ready for a job/apprenticeship. The programme includes work experience to help students to decide what you want to do Personalised programme to meet their needs. These programs can be related to a specific area, such as Sport or Business Administration.) These programs aim to build up their confidence and skills. The core subjects are Functional Skills alongside chosen units.
