Do Now (10) 1. Write tonight’s homework in your agenda.
2. Make sure that your binder is organized. 3. Complete the Do Now on your Classwork with maximum effort. 4. If you finish early, please read independently. Homework check occurs during this time. You can check the hw yourself if you would like. I often have a student check the hw if it is a simple completion assignment. The hw for this class was a page response to the prompt: How do you plan on growing as a student this year? Hw checkers for each class are: Divyne (Medaille), Valerie (Kenyon), Izora (Amherst)

Page 247, 4. Travelling my land was difficult because the communities were isolated from one another and the topography (rise and fall of the landscape) was very hilly with dangerous terrain. The roads were not paved and the sharp rocks ruined wooden wheels. 5. Travelling by boat was difficult due to jagged rocks. Boats were uncomfortable and travelers might be attacked by pirates. Sudden storms also prevented sailors from safe travel. Have students look at the map of Ancient Greece. Where is Athens? Where is Sparta?
