1 Fundraising Dinner for the TEAR Dhumba Program
You are invited to an evening of fine dining to raise funds for TEAR’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Support program called Dhumba (a Woi Wurrung word meaning `talk, tell or speak’) WHEN: Friday 2nd September 2016 TIME: 6:45 – 9.45pm WHERE: Zest Restaurant, Holmesglen Institute, 595 Waverley Road, Glen Waverley COST: $50 Booking and payment details:   For further info please contact Mark Fielding: The evening will include: Three courses of fine dining cuisine, soft drink, tea and coffee (alcohol available if you choose for individual or table purchase) A silent auction featuring a range of products and services that are either fairtrade, ethical, local or Indigenous sourced The opportunity of an affordable, low key, fun and casual night with friends and family including a table trivia competition A very brief overview of the work of TEAR Australia, a not-for-profit organisation that responds to the needs of poor communities both locally and internationally. All profits from the evening will go towards supporting the Dhumba program What are TEAR Action Groups TEAR Action Groups are small clusters of Christians that meet regularly to connect with people who share TEAR's passion for achieving justice and ending poverty. We focus on advocacy, educating ourselves and fundraising for TEAR's programs. (see for more info about TEAR and TEAR groups) We will also hear from a guest speaker , Chrissy Ellis (left), TEAR Australia’s Program Officer for the Dhumba program. Chrissy will talk about her journey as an Aboriginal woman and the role and impact of the program.
