STUDENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Master Program Every applicant must have an undergraduate diploma certificate from a study program that has been accredited by BAN-PT. Every applicant must have GPA ≥ 3.00 (on a scale of 0-4). Every applicant must have a TPA OTO-BAPPENAS (similar to GMAT or GRE) and TOEFL (English proficiency) certificate from institutions that have been acknowledged by MPIAM with the TOEFL score of ≥ 500. If the applicant has different field of study at the undergraduate level, they must take matriculation subjects before the semester starts

Doctoral Program Every applicant must have a master diploma certificate from a study program that has been accredited by BAN-PT or certificate that has equivalence legality of the Directorate General of Higher Education. Every applicant must have GPA ≥ 3.50 (on a scale of 0-4). Every applicant must have a TPA OTO-BAPPENAS (similar to GMAT or GRE) and TOEFL (English proficiency) certificate from institutions that have been acknowledged by FEB UB with the minimum score of 525 and 550 If the applicant has not meet the requirements, students are obliged to join intensive program hold by LDC FEB UB.

Educational system

Master Program Lecture is equal to 50 minute-class activity (lectures), 60 minute-structured activities and 60 minute-independent activities for each week. Field Work is equal to 4 hours workload on the field, approximately 1-2 hours of structured activities and approximately 1-2 hours of independent activities per week for one semester (equals to 18 weeks).

Study Load The number of credits required by students to complete their master program is between credit points of lectures, between credit points of practical work and between credit points of thesis. study load are required activities which consist of lectures practical work structured assignment, seminars and a thesis limited by certain number of credit points per semester. Courses are classified into compulsory subjects of the study program, compulsory courses of interest and the elective courses.

Study Period The normal study period for masters students with relevant previous study (Bachelor Degree) is 4 (four) semesters and the maximum study period is 8(eight) semesters. For students whose bachelor degree backgrounds are not relevant with the current study program, the maximum study period is 5 (five) semesters. Academic leave is not considered as part of the study time. Students who cannot to complete their study in 4(four) years or 8(eight) semesters without any justifiable reason are considered failing from the master program of FEB UB.

Thesis Supervisory Supervisory committee consist of lecturers responsible to supervise a thesis. Each student is supervised by a maximum of 2 supervisors; one of whom acts as the supervisory head and the other as the member.

Educational System Education at the doctoral program PPS FEB UB is conducted in two models: a. Model by Course, is a doctoral pedagogical model which is started by lectures and followed by dissertation writing. b. Model by Research, is a doctoral pedagogical model which is started by giving an assignment (equal to class activity) and followed by dissertation writing.

Study Load Study Load that has to be taken by students who wish to finish their doctoral degree at Postgraduate Program FEB UB is as the following: a. The Study Load of doctoral degree program for masters-graduated of the same stream is equal to 40 to 50 credit points, consisting of coursework and practical work (12-18 credit points) and dissertation (28-32 credit points). b. The Study Load of doctoral degree program for masters-graduated of different stream is at least 52 credit points, consisting of coursework and practical work (24-36 credit points) and dissertation (28-32 credit points).

Study Period The study duration of the Doctoral Program students with the relevant background of their Master Program takes at least 6 (six) semester with the study load at least 40 credit points, and no longer 14 (fourteen) semester (Regulation of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Number 44 Year 2015). The study duration of the Doctoral Program students with the different background of their Master Program takes at least 7 (seven) semester with the study load at least 52 credit points and no longer than 14 (fourteen) semester (Regulation of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Number 44 Year 2015).

DISSERTATION PROMOTERS
Board of promoters consisting of Promoters and Co-promoters are academic staffs responsible for supervising dissertation writing of a Doctoral candidate. Each student is supervised by a maximum of 3 (three) academics, one of whom acts as the promoter and the other two are the co-promoters.

Journal Publication Besides being liable to complete lectures and a thesis, according to article 2 dictum 2 of the UB Rector Regulation No. 336/PER/2012 regarding the publication of scientific work in scientific periodicals as the graduation requirement for the educational program of Bachelor. Master, and Doctoral, and article 7 item 2 of the UB Rector Regulation No. 427/PER/2012 on Academic Regulation of UB Master program, students of master degree are required to make publication in nationally accredited scientific journals or international scientific journals, suggested by the Head of Study program.

Journal Publication regulation
The procedure of this publication is stated below: a. The publication topic is related to the student’s thesis or field of study. b. the draft to be published must be approved by the supervisors. c. Publication made is a joint publication between the student and the supervisor. d. the inclusion order of the writer’s name is based on the agreement between the student and supervisor according to the contribution of each. e. the student and lecturer who produce the publication must and only mention the institution of Postgraduate Program of Faculty of Economics and Business University of Brawijaya. .

GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
To be able to join the graduation ceremony as well as receive the graduation certificate, the student must: 1. Graduate from the Master program. 2. Have made publication related to the thesis in scientific national journal, accredited is prioritized, or international journal. 3. Meet other requirements as assigned by Postgraduate Programs FEB UB.
