12 IT/Sports TG Info Session
IT Training/Sports TG Info Session is being held on TUESDAY 18th APRIL – 6:30pm in the downstairs meeting room at AFL Central Vic (45 Mundy Street, Bendigo) IMPORTANT for any new team managers or secretary’s that need to learn how to use the Sports TG system. This will include how to create team sheets, results entry, match day permits, plus a chance to ask any questions.

The Team Manager’s/Coaches Handbook contains: Team Manager’s/Coaches manual BJFL Umpire Group Info BJFL 2016/2017 By-Laws AFL Vic Youth Girls Rules Area Agreements and the Permit System Codes of Behaviour BJFL Cyber Safety Policy BJFL Duty of Care As your team’s appointed TEAM MANAGER, you should make yourself aware of the 2016/2017 Bendigo Junior Football League By-Laws and Code of Behaviour. On match day, you are the main contact for your team. You will be the one responsible for approaching umpires or the opposition team. Please assure all paperwork is neat and legible.

All BJFL Games and Functions are SMOKE FREE All change rooms used by the BJFL clubs must be swept and cleaned Your coaches must be accredited – contact Shane Koop on 2017 Season & Meeting Dates and DOB requirements Pre and Post Game duties of the Team Manager Examples of BJFL match day paperwork Area Agreements and the Permit System 2016/17 BJFL By-Laws and AFL Vic Youth Girls By-Laws Codes of Behaviour and Duty of Care

15 Team Manager Kits Your TEAM will receive kits which contain:
2 x Team Managers & Coaches Handbooks 10 x combination of Timekeepers cards, Goal Umpire Cards, B&F cards 10 x Best & Fairest envelopes 10 x Match Day Results Envelopes 10 x BJFL Most Disciplined Club Award cards 10 x BJFL Most Disciplined Club Award envelopes 1 x Umpire Report Pad EACH PACK contains enough paperwork for 10 home games. The first team (home team) on the draw provides all paperwork. The BJFL will provide all paperwork and submit all results for finals games.

16 Umpire Reports If there has been a report made, make sure all relevant paperwork is placed inside the large Match Day Envelope. It must be indicated that there is a report enclosed, by marking with a cross in the ‘Umpire’s report enclosed’ box of the envelope. If a report has been made, at the time of entering results a courtesy to outlining the details is required.

17 Submitting Paperwork The HOME TEAM is responsible for the entering of results into SportingPulse. Results are to be submitted AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (no later than 12.00noon the Monday following the Round) 16. The HOME TEAM is responsible for submitting Match Day Envelopes to: AFL Central Victoria Level 1, 45 Mundy Street, Bendigo AFTER HOURS. A letter box is situated at the front of the building. DURING BUSINESS HOURS are to be delivered in person on Level 1 If the home club is from out of town (Castlemaine, Kyneton, Maryborough and Woorinen) the Match Day Envelope must be received no later than Tuesday morning’s mail. If possible the away club to collect after the game and submit to the hub. (this is preferred)

Don’t underestimate the impact a coach has in the life of a footballer. Coaches need to focus on creating fun learning environments to ensure our players not only develop their skills but also remain connected to our great game. Shane Koop AFL CV

23 Focuses for Junior Coaching
Fun safe learning environments (children learn when they are having fun and exploring) Skill development (children need to feel success to stay engaged) Fairness (let the players explore all positions on the ground and equal playing time – 3 quarter policy) Ensuring the footballer remains connected to your clubs Junior Pathway Regular communication with parents (this will help the parent group understand certain decisions that are made) (On match day ensure the parents contact point is with the team manger in the yellow vest – allow the coach to coach)

Date: Sunday April 30, 2017 Location: La Trobe University, Bendigo Cost: $190 A mid season course will be conducted if demand requires (minimum of 20 required).

Coaching Female Football – Wednesday 17th May, 2017 What is the best approach when coaching girls? What do coaches need to consider when coaching girls? What skills and drills are important to have included in your female football program? Female injury management will be discussed. Coaching Junior Football – Wednesday 31st May, 2017 What is important when coaching junior football? What is the ideal coaching philosophy when coaching junior football? What skills and drills are important to have involved in your junior football program? Steve Teakel – AFL Vic Coaching and Umpiring Development Manager will be presenting. Registration links, presenters and venues are TBC and will be communicated via the BJFL.

Coach Education Reaccreditation form Reference letter from each club that you have coached at over the last 4 years Coaches Code of Conduct form $85 for Re accreditation - Either by Direct Debit or Cheque
