Hebrews Chapter 1

Heb 1:1) GOD, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2) has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3) who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Hebrews is written to convince Jewish Christians that what they have in Christ is better than anything before! Hebrews is written to encourage them to move forward and persevere in FAITH Heb 2:1) Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. Heb 6:11) And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,

12) that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 10:23) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 10:35) Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.

Heb 12:1) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2) looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Vs 2 “LAST DAYS” In the past God spoke through many prophets Now at the end of OT revelation He has spoken through His Son. The goal of OT revelation is the NT God is now speaking through Messiah Jesus So is God speaking more of His Word today through people?

Eph 2:19) Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20) having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, Last days mean the final days of revelation and these came through Jesus! The apostles wrote of His life and teachings and the Holy Spirit taught them after He ascended.

John 16:12) “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13) “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14) “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

This Word was spoken to the Apostles and they wrote it down they are the foundation (Rev 21:14) there is no new revelation being given today 2 Pet 3:2) that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior,

Heir of ALL things Heir means final focus and lordship of all things

He is the beginning of time He controls all time, ages and all these are in subjection to Him because He made them 3. The brightness of the Father’s glory The off-flash the very image (Shechinah) John 14:7) “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:9) … He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

“Everything true of God the Father is true of God the Son in every respect. He is the precise reproduction of God the Father. He has all the same attributes of deity that the Father has”. Ariel’s Bible commentary (Jewish Epistles ) 5. He is carrying all things to a predetermined goal. Upholding is; carrying the entire universe to the final goal 1 Cor 15:24) Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

25) For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet
25) For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26) The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27) For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28) Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
