2 THEATRE Theatre in the USA - the American drama art is drawing above all from European traditions. In the United States a musical is the most popular form of theatre performances. Theatre Broadway is the most famous American theatre in New York. Second - near New York - the centre of the American drama life is Chicago.

3 DANCE Broadway Dance Center, located in the heart of Times Square in New York City, was founded in 1984 as one of the largest dance training schools in the world, offering over 200 classes a week in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Theater and more. Dancers and performers such as Bette Middler, Brooke Shields, Britney Spears, Madonna, *NSYNC, Jason Samuels Smith, Almamy and Elizabeth Berkley have taken class or rehearsed at the school and many Broadway performers take class there daily.

4 MUSIC Music intertwines with aspects of American social and cultural identity, including through social class, race and ethnicity, geography, religion, language, gender and sexuality. The relationship between music and race is perhaps the most potent determiner of musical meaning in the United States.

5 SPORT Sports in the United States is an important part of American culture. The four most popular team sports are: baseball, American football, basketball and ice hockey. The major leagues of these sports, the National Football League (NFL), the Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Hockey League (NHL).

6 FILMS & OSCARS Connecting built hits with the weak dollar caused that six greatest American manufacturing companies could be pleased with a record-breaking box office takings. Awards of the Film Academy, known universally under the name Oscar, were created in 1927 (first granting awards, for 1927 and 1928, stepped 16 May 1929). For years they are being regarded as the most prestigious film award.

9 New Year The new year in the United States has impressive character exceptionally. Anyway most media. Every year on the Square Times in New York hundreds or thousands of people are coming out.

10 Martin Luther King Day This holiday is celebrated on third Monday of the January. It is important for the defence of human rights, irrespective of the race, the religion and the origin.

11 Day of Swearing the New President
Next important holiday at the beginning of the year is Day of swearing the new president. The holiday is celebrated on 20 January every four years.

12 Day of the President On third Monday of the February is celebrated a day of the president. It was established to honour the famous American presidents - George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

13 Memorial Day This holiday memory of those who died fighting for the good of the country. It is celebrated on the last Monday in May.

14 Day of the Flag On 14. June , Americans celebrate Flag Day.

15 Independence Day Celebrated is 4. July. During each anniversary in USA there are festivals, parades and concerts. In the evening there is a firework display.

16 Veteran's Day Celebrated on 11. November. Refers to all the living soldiers.

17 Thanksgiving Day American celebrated this holiday on the fourth Thursday in November. It has religious background and commemorates the first Thanksgiving pilgrims.

18 Super Bowl Super Bowl is the final match of the championship in American football professional league National Football League. The whole ceremony has become an informal U.S. national holiday. Finals Day is the second, after Thanksgiving day, a day with the most food eaten in the United States.
