1 Globalization Advisory Board (GAB)
July 2013 Kickoff

2 Team ‘Charter’ Provide direction to the Society regarding issues related to global expansion.  The GAB has no authority to make changes to the Society membership structure, requirements, types, etc., however will make recommendations to the BOD for ways to improve our ability to attract, retain, and grow globally.  The GAB works at the discretion of the assigned BOD member (currently Director of Membership) on tasks identified each fiscal year associated with the Society Strategic Plan Goal 2 - "SWE will be recognized as a global, inclusive organization, promoting diversity and inclusion and serving women engineers wherever they are".

4 Our Team Suzanne Jenniches – past president, other bod perspective, global work experience, AAES rep- global partnerships, Elizabeth Bierman – P-E, works in global org, 20yrs in Society Jasmine Harris – collegiate involvement, Erica Messinger – passion, global work team, cross cultural collaboration, CPC rep Prinda Wanakule – worked abroad, graduate student perspective, Holly Pheil – extensive committee participation, chair for IETF, Casee Eisele – CPC rep, ENG-SWE partnerships, Jonna Gerken – various membership roles, open minded, willing to propose change

5 FY14 Focus Areas 2.3 Develop a flexible SWE governance structure that supports globalization and inclusion. Investigate needs, options, and current state for a structure that supports globalization and inclusion.
