2. Introduction What is marriage?
The legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship .
What is marriage certificate?
A copy of the record of a legal marriage, with details of names, date, etc.
How one can get it?
One can get it by two methods.
1. Offline
2. Online

3. Offline method- one can get offline by submitting the form in required format with necessary documents.
The process is as below,

As an initiative of e-governance mission the government started providing various certificates online. The marriage certificate is one of them.
One can get it online by following the below procedure.

6. Aaple Sarkar Portal
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Devendra Fadnavis in January 2015 had launched "Aaple Sarkar", a website, with a view to establish direct and close communication between citizens and Government and also address public grievances.
As on today 39 departments are covered by the portal and it provides 393 services online like online RTI, and various certificates like marriage certificate.

8. Now lets see the steps to be followed to get online marriage certificate

9. Step 1 : Go to the Aaple sarkar portal using url https://aaplesarkar

10. Step 2 : Register yourself on the portal
Step 2 : Register yourself on the portal. After the registration you will get Login Id and password using which you can Login to the portal. For registration you can use two methods. 1. Using UID details 2. Using other details.

11. For registration purpose you will have to fill the form shown here.

12. Step 3 : After registration you will have to log into the portal with the help of user name and the password that you have generated while registering.

13. Step 4 : After logging in to the portal choose the Urban Local Bodies department from the menu on the left side of the screen.

14. Step 5 : Choose your municipality from the drop down menu present at the top of the screen and choose the required service i.e. Marriage registration certificate.
