This award, given to Park for her novel A Single Shard, about an orphan in the 12th century, Korea, is given to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

When My Name Was Keoko received two nods in 2002 for Best Books of the Year from Publishers Weekly AND THIS monthly journal giving up to date information to school librarians about integrating libraries into school curriculum, reviews, information literacy, and much more.

In 2009, Park received a nomination to this annual Illinois readers book award list for her novel Project Mulberry about two friends, Julia & Patrick, who decide to raise silkworms for the state fair. (Coincidentally, the namesake for this award lived in Urbana, Illinois – the same place Linda Sue Park was born!)

In its Fanfare Selection list, this journal selects what it feels are the best children’s and young adult books of the year. Park’s book, Tap Dancing on the Roof, was selected in 2007 for this publication’s list of the best of the best.
