The last eruption began on January it was called Pu’u’O’o and it’s still going.
That means “Hill of the O’o bird”.
It covered 37 square miles.

The location of Mount Kilauea is in east of Hawaii the longitude and latitude of it is N
Pu’u’O’o killed 740 people on

4. Damage As of 1998 181 houses, a church, and stores were destroyed.
Waha ‘ula visitor center was destroyed .
The coastal highway was destroyed and closed since
740 people were killed .
Burned villages down.
Kalapana black sand beach is covered by lava.

The volcano is on the Pacific plate
The reason it is always its because it is right under a hot spot.
