5 Strong Foundation Product Features – Base Protection
Available on Simplified Issue (SI) and Fully Underwritten (F U/W) basis No life event requirements on SI Choices of initial terms: 15-, 20- & 30-year term periods for SI 10-, 15-, 20- & 30-year term periods for F U/W Issue age based on last birthday Notes: Strong Foundation is available as Fully Underwritten or Simplified Issue No life event requirements for Simplified Issue! 6 Strong Foundation Product Features – Base Protection
Minimum issue limits: $20,000 without LRR or $25,000 with LRR Maximum issue limits: SI – up to $250,000 depending on issue age F U/W – no maximum, subject to underwriting approval Premiums for base certificate are guaranteed for the entire initial term Premium banding: 1 premium band for SI 3 premium bands for F U/W – higher premium bands offer lower premium rate per $1,000 of coverage Notes: Issue face amount limits: Premium banding: April 2009 For Producer Use Only (See notes page for more product highlights)

7 Strong Foundation Product Features – Base Protection
Insurance classes: 2 classes for SI 5 classes for FU – preferred classes available from Band 2 and up Renewable to age 95 Convertible to permanent life insurance without evidence of insurability SI – non-contractual (subject to our business practice) FU – contractual provision 6 optional riders to provide comprehensive insurance protection Notes: Insurance Classes SI: Standard Non-Smoker & Standard Smoker FU: Non-Smoker: Individuals who do not smoke cigarettes (cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, nicotine patches and other substitutes are allowed). Smoker: Individuals who smoke cigarettes (including marijuana). Renewable After the initial term, certificate automatically renews annually to age 95 with annually increasing premiums. Convertible - currently available on Simplified Issue (subject to our business practice) & Fully Underwritten (contractual provision) Prior to the earlier of the end of the initial term period less 5 years, and the certificate anniversary on which the insured is 65. The new certificate will: Be in the same rating class and insurance class. If either class is not available, the new certificate will be in the next less favorable class available on the conversion date Be issued on a permanent life insurance plan Foresters is then issuing. Be for an amount of insurance less than or equal to the face amount (subject to minimum certificate requirements on the conversion date) Be issued at the age, as defined in the new certificate, of the insured on the conversion date Not invoke new suicide and contestability periods April 2009 For Producer Use Only (See notes page for more product highlights)

9 Accident & Illness Protection Options
Critical Illness Rider (Accelerated Death Benefit) Pays a portion of the base term benefit in a lump sum if diagnosed with one of the covered critical illnesses or has completed a covered critical procedure. 100% for covered critical illness 25% for covered critical procedures Except for life threatening cancer which requires diagnosis to occur after 30 days of the issue date, there are no waiting period requirements for other covered illnesses. (Some companies require the diagnosis occurred 60 days for cancer or 90 days for other covered illnesses after the coverage issue date). Return of CIR premiums paid (minus CIR benefits paid) on death (from a cause other than a critical illness) while the rider is in effect Benefit Payout Key Advantages Notes: Issue limits: From $5,000 to 75% of the base amount up to $50,000 Covered Critical Illnesses – 100% of payout - Life Threatening Cancer (Invasive) - Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack) - Stroke - Advanced Alzheimer’s (before Age 75) Covered Critical Procedures – 25% of payout - Coronary Bypass Surgery - Angioplasty 100% of CI premiums paid (minus the sum of CI benefits paid) are returned if the insured dies, while this rider is in effect, from a cause other than a critical illness Not available on rated certificates Min. rider benefit: $5,000; max. rider benefit: 75% of base certificate amount up to $50,000 Max. 10 Accident & Illness Protection Options
Disability Income Rider (Accident Only) Provides a monthly benefit if the insured becomes totally disabled within 180 days of an accidental bodily injury Up to 2 independent claims Benefits payable up to 2 years per claim Benefits are non-coordinated – will not be reduced/offset by other DI benefits received from other sources Available on a Simplified Issue basis (not medically underwritten) Return of DIR premiums paid (minus DIR benefits paid) on death while the rider is in effect Benefit Payout Notes: Issue limits: $500 to the lesser of: - $2,000 for SI or $3,000 for FU - 1.5% of base certificate amount - 60% of insured’s monthly pay at the time of application 2 claims per certificate – 1st claim with Own Occ definition – 2nd claim with Any Occ definition 90-day waiting period (DIR benefits will not be paid during the waiting period) Max. of 24-month benefit period Can be added post-issue – up to 5 yrs from issue date 100% of DI premiums paid (less sum of DI benefits paid) are returned if the insured dies while DI Rider is in effect DI Rider may be available on rated certificates but the rider itself cannot be rated Maximum monthly benefit is the lowest of a) $2,000 for SI/$3,000 for FU; b) 1.5% of the base certificate amount; and c) 60% of the insured’s monthly pay (at the time of application) DIR is expired at age 65 or on the last day of the initial term, whichever is earlier. 11 Accident & Illness Protection Options
Waiver of Premium Rider Waives the Strong Foundation premium required for each month the insured is totally disabled To qualify, insured must become totally disabled prior to age 60 and for a continuous period of at least 6 months If the premiums of the Strong Foundation coverage are being waived on the rider expiry date, the waiver will continue as long as the insured remains totally disabled Benefit Payout Notes: WPR is expired at age 60 or on the last day of the initial term, whichever is earlier. 12 Extended Protection Options
Accidental Death Rider Provides additional benefit in the event of accidental death Benefit is paid in addition to the base certificate should an accident death occur within 365 days, of and due to, the accidental bodily injury An affordable way to provide extra coverage to safeguard loved ones in case of accidental death Benefit Payout Notes: Issue limits: A choice of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the base face amount with minimum amount of $10,000 to a maximum of $300,000 Total ADR insurance from all insurers cannot exceed $300,000 ADR expires at age 70 or on the last day of the initial term, whichever is earlier. 13 Extended Protection Options
Children’s Term Rider Provides level term insurance for each child of the insured Benefit is payable for a death of an insured child One low premium ($5 per month) covers ALL insured children Can convert up to $50,000 to permanent insurance without evidence of insurability Benefit Payout Notes: Gives the gift of guaranteed insurability for insured children (i.e. whether born, adopted, under the legal guardianship or a stepchild) who are between the age of 15 days and their 18th birthday Issue limit: $10,000 Insured child will be covered regardless of marital status as long as remains as an insured child Insured child can convert to permanent insurance without evidence of insurability until 2 months after the earliest of: a) date the rider ends; b) death of insured; c) insured child’s 25th birthday Conversion amount is: $10,000 on or before insured child’s 21st birthday Up to $50,000 after insured child’s 21st birthday CTR expires at insured’s age 65 or on the last day of the initial term, whichever is earlier. 14 Financial Protection Option
Living Rewards Rider Provides LRR benefit (return of premiums) at the end of the 30-year term if the insured survived Return of 100% of eligible premiums paid at the end of 30-year term period; minus: Outstanding loan plus interest CIR benefits paid Insured can access the growing value of the LRR benefit through an easy access loan – no qualification required Benefit Payout Notes: Available with 30-year term only Eligible premiums: premiums paid, while the rider is in effect, for base certificate, LRR, ADR and WPR (may vary depending on state variations) Prior to the end of initial term, LRR benefit (i.e. premium return) is a percentage (reaches 100% at the end of the initial term) of eligible premiums paid, minus outstanding loan plus interest and minus CIR benefits paid Should the base certificate lapse or is cancelled, the accumulated LRR benefit can be taken as: - Extended term insurance (as default option – may vary due to state variations) - Payment of the LRR benefit - Reduced Paid Up life insurance Illustration software can: Illustrate to your clients the value of the easy access loan feature Generate rate of return examples for your clients Key Advantages April 2009 For Producer Use Only (See notes page for more product highlights)

17 Underwriting Key Points
Refer to Foresters Underwriting Guide’s Impairment Guide section before submitting SI applications – it lists impairments that will be accepted or rejected (helps improve approval rates!)
