Open Government • April 2012, Canada joined the international Open Government Partnership (OGP) • The OGP is “a multilateral initiative that aims to secure concrete commitments from governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.” • 69 countries have joined the OGP since it was founded. In April 2016, the OGP announced that it will be piloting an initiative to bring 10 sub-national governments into the Partnership, including the Government of Ontario.
