3 Six-Sigma Processes ISO standardization?
Anyone familiar with 6 Sigma and how it differs to ISO standardization? Both measure the ability to repeat a process but 6 Sigma goes beyond… What is 6 sigma? It was developed by Motorola in 1986. Jack Welch made it central to his business strategy at General Electric in 1995 Techniques and tools for process improvement Continuous efforts to achieve stable and predictable process results What does this mean to you? Driving efficiency In house testing, for example Identify defects and errors to minimize variability in manufacturing Quality management

4 Quality Focused Product success (failure) rates:
All products: 99.87% (.13%) Toners: 99.82% (.18%) Drums: 99.86% (.14%) Upper rollers: 99.83% (.17%) Drum units: 98.44% (1.56%) Waste toner bottles: 99.99% (.01%) So what? OEMs measure their success rates when determining the yield value for parts and supplies. Some will put a specific number, like 1.5% and give you a discount to compensate (Ricoh) Some will warranty the product if it doesn’t reach a certain % of the yield they stated Or they may simply warranty only high dollar items Talk about success rates Over 99.8%!! Less than 2 tenths of a percent failure overall Our lowest success rate is 98.4% on one of our best value categories We’re not perfect, but we’re always trying to improve.

5 History Where Did We Start? Where Are We Today?
2016: Over 1,500 copier parts and supplies 2009: Released first color drum unit 2007: Released color toner Where Did We Start? Founded in 1983 as a copier parts company and have continued to remain copier centric 2002- Launched our first high performance monochrome toner Image Runner 330/400 better efficiency than OEM 2007- Released Color Toner—We were late to market here, but if you remember the compatible color toners from years ago you remember they didn’t perform. That’s not us. Our products perform, so we waited until we developed color toner that met our standards. Some things are worth the wait. 2009- After 10 years of monochrome drum unit rebuilding, we released our first color drum unit. Where Are We Today? 2016- over 1500 items, all selected to bring dealers the best value in copier parts and supplies 2002: Launched first monochrome toner line 1983: NA Trading and Technology is founded

6 The Recycle Program Reduce electronic waste in local landfills New life for quality products Remanufacturing exclusively in Minnesota How many of you advocate that you have a Green Initiative? We looked at your websites and found that most companies in this room advertise some sort of green initiative We can help you improve your participation in reducing electronic waste in your community 6 of you are actively utilizing our Recycle Program (Inexplicably, a couple of you actually participate in our Recycling Program but don’t promote your environmental stewardship online. That strikes us as a missed opportunity.) There are about 30 different types of drum units and image units that can have a second life if you participate in recycling your cores Great program! We do our part in covering your shipping costs back to our facility in MN. where, we are also doing the remanufacturing Other programs may ship their cores to other countries for remanufacturing which increases theuse of fuel for the transportation and takes away jobs here in the US.

12 What We Do Develop and create new products in-house Competitive Advantage Develop and create new products in‐house Common items: Drum units and toner Benefits: Product oversight –cuts down on development time and… Gives us direct control of our quality Being born out of a dealership, we were very cautious about how we approached getting into the toner business. For the first 19 years we avoided it completely until we had the right vendor relations to meet those expectations. Today we are faster to market and since we manufacture on the premises, we have control over manufacturing time Competitive Advantage: We also offer a broad selection of typical high consumable parts and supplies to maximize your opportunities and make you more competitive in your marketplace!
