1 Welcome! Callahan Intermediate Title I Annual Meeting / Open House & Community Fair

2 School Hours Regular school hours are from 7:45 – 2:00.
Be on time – instruction begins promptly!

3 New Tardy Policy Students arriving after 7:50am will need to be escorted into the front office by an adult. Thank you for helping keep our students safe.

4 Pick-up circle at CIS. All pick-ups should be in the front circle
Pick-up circle at CIS. All pick-ups should be in the front circle. Please do not park and walk up – please drive through and students will be loaded for maximum safety.

5 All classroom supply lists are recommended supplies.
Class Supplies All classroom supply lists are recommended supplies. Backpacks are NOT required, but if you choose to bring a backpack, it can’t have wheels.

6 School Visitors All visitors to the school campus must park in the main parking lot and check-in at the front office.

11 CIS Kitchen – used for classroom cooking activities.

13 Cafeteria – Lunch prices and information were provided in your “back to school” packet provided by your child’s teacher.

14 School Clinic The school health aide is Ms. Tiffany LaCombe
Please feel free to contact her regarding health or medication issues.

15 Front office – Welcome! All parent conferences can be made by simply contacting Ms. Susan Carter in the front office.

17 All classrooms have computers, and access to scanner, digital camera, classroom printer and more…

18 Students participate in physical education, music, library, science and computer instruction each week.

21 Title I Title I is the largest federal assistance program for schools. Allocations are based on the number of free & reduced lunch participants. CIS is a School-wide Title I program providing services to students in the regular classroom.

22 School/Parent Compact
We have developed the School/Parent Compact with the input and assistance of our School Advisory Council. Please read and sign your copy and return to the school as soon as possible. We look forward to working closely with our parents as a vital part of our educational team.

23 What does Title I do for our school?
Title I teachers are in place to reduce our teacher to pupil ratio at CIS. Funds provide additional training for school staff. Provides supplemental tutoring resources Supports parental involvement activities Provides supplemental teaching resources

24 Parental Involvement Plan
Parental Involvement Plan is developed with the input of the CIS School Advisory Council. Copies of the Parental Involvement Plan will be provided to parents.

25 Parent Information A Parent Handbook will be sent home to help parents better understand the Title I Program and their rights. Parental Information and Resource Center (PIRC) – A parent website that provides parental information and resources

26 Teacher Information Teachers will provide information regarding:
Educational Standards District/School Curriculum Parent/Student/School Compact How student progress will be measured & reported Ways to help your child

27 School Advisory Council
CIS School meets on the first Tuesday of selected months. We will be updating the council membership this month. If you have a recommendation or would like to participate yourself, please submit your name on the form provided on the Title I table in the School / Community Fair.

28 Student Activities Students are involved in numerous extra-curricular activities to recognize and enhance a great variety of talents. TV Production Studio

29 STEM LAB - Many activities are offered to students in our
Stem labs. Students will learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

30 Volunteer Program CIS has a substantial volunteer program. Many talented parents and community members enhance the educational program for students.

31 CIS is a great place to work and learn!!
Students at CIS are provided the opportunity to participate in several field trips which correlate with their curriculum during the year. Field trips are a fun hands-on learning experience. Remember -All forms must be properly completed and turned in on time.

32 Homework – Students will be required to complete homework assignments that reinforce their lessons. Homework should last approximately 30 – 40 minutes.

33 Attendance It is very important for students to be in school every day. When students are out, they miss important instruction. Miss School – Miss Out!

34 All students are important and can succeed at CIS !

35 Students participate in a school wide initiative of reading
20 minutes every night.
