Why The Need for Facilities?
Our present facilities are tired. There is no plan – Spread out all over the city Training habits have changed We cant attract major events – Small venues, tired venues, hotel space. Our city needs the economic impact/spin offs Our young people are leaving. Fitness and health.

What are other cities doing?
What I have learned in my travels. Recreational facilities are town halls. Community meeting places They create a safe environment and a general excitement to a city.

Current attitude – It has to change for our future. Structure of minor sports – Nationals/Petes Facilities to bring in major events – Hotel space, Spread out and aging facilities – WE CAN’T COMPETE! The Memorial Center and the Petes. Morrow Park The city council’s history. Time vs. a commitment to doing it right!

Recommendations Everyone on the same page.
Collaborate this group with the city and other entertainment groups/the arts. Everyone on the same page. Create the necessary funding – Entertainment tax (hotels, user fees) Power in numbers. 2. Review all sport organizations – Nats/Petes, budgets 3. Create a BRAND – Name and identity. 4. Create a recreational plan done by professionals!!!! 5. Educate and sell the plan!
